Psalm 80 (revised)

PRAYER PSALM 80

Baruch Ata, YHVH, Elohey Yisrael, Avi.

(Bless You, YHVH - Elohim of Israel, my Father)

O YHVH, Elohey Tzva’ot (God of the Armies), You have fed us, Your chosen ones, with the bread of tears and have given to us tears to drink in great measure.  You, El Ro’eh (God Who Sees and Provides), have made us an object of strife to our neighbors; and our enemies laugh at us among themselves.

As our husbandman, You brought us like a vine out of Egypt. You, Moshi’ee (my Savior/Deliverer), cast out the nations and planted us on our inheritance, in the land of Canaan.  You prepared room for us and caused our root to go deep into the soil and to grow until we filled the land.  The hills as well as the boughs of the mighty cedars were covered with the shadow of Your vineyard.  You, Elohey Chesed (God of Mercy), sent out our boughs to the sea and our branches to the river.

But because of our unfaithfulness, adultery and idolatry You, Shofet Tzedek (Judge of Righteousness), have broken down our hedges, so that all who pass by the way pluck our fruit.   The boar, out of the woods uprooted Your vineyard; and the wild beast of the field devoured it.

O YHVH – Elohey Yeshua’teynu (God of our Salvation), return.  We beseech You, Elohey Tzva’ot (God of the Armies), look down from heaven and see; visit Your vine and the vineyard which Y’min’cha (Your Right Hand) had planted, and the branch that You made strong for Yourself.  It has been burned with fire; it has been cut down; we have perished at the rebuke of Your countenance.

Restore us, O El HaKavod (God of Glory); cause Your face to shine, so that we may be saved!  Let Your hand be upon the man of Y’min’cha (Your Right Hand), upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.  Revive us and we will call upon Your name; we will not turn back from You.  Restore us, O Tzur Yisrael (Rock of Israel).  Give ear, Ro’eh Yisrael (Shepherd of Israel), You who lead Yoseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!  Before Ephraim, Binyamin, and Menasheh stir up Your strength and come and save us!  Cause Your face to shine, Elohey Yeshua’teynu (God of our Salvation), and we shall be saved!

Hallelu-Yah!!!  For You, YHVH, are Elohim.  You are Elohey Yisrael, Elohey Avraham,             Yitzchak and Ya’acov.  Avi the Almighty reigns!

PRAYER PSALM 2 ב

PRAYER PSALM 2 ב

Baruch Ata YHVH, Elohey Yisrael, Avi.

(Bless You, YHVH - Elohim of Israel, my Father)

Why Abba, do the kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against You, Elohey Yisrael, and against Your Messiah?  These kings and rulers are saying that they want to break away from the bonds and cast away the cords that You have placed upon them.

But You, Avinu (our Father), who sit in the heavens shall laugh; You are our Elohim and You shall hold them in derision.  If it is Your will Abba, speak to them in Your wrath, and distress them in Your deep displeasure.

YouElohey Yisrael have set Your King on Your holy hill of Tziyon.  You have declared of Him, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You.  Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.  You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel".  Therefore, be wise O kings, be instructed you judges of the earth, serve YHVH - Elohey Yisrael, with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.

Blessed are all those who put their trust in You, YHVH - Elohey Yisrael.

Hallelu-Yah!!!  For You YHVH are Elohim.  You are Elohey Yisrael, Elohey Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’acov.   Avi the Almighty reigns!

PRAYER PSALM Alef

PRAYER PSALM א

Baruch Ata YHVH, Elohey Yisrael, Avinu

(Bless You, YHVH - Elohim of Israel, our Father)

We are blessed by You, Avinu, when we do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful, but our delight is in Your Torah, YHVH - Elohey Yisrael, and in Your Torah we will meditate day and night.  For then we shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; our leaf also shall not wither and whatever we do we will prosper.

However, the lawless (or ungodly) are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in Your judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For You, YHVH - Elohey Tzid’kenu (our Righteousness), know the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Hallelu-Yah!!!  For You, YHVH, are Elohim. You are Elohey Yisrael, Elohey Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’acov.  Avinu the Almighty reigns!

These Prayer Psalms do not endeavor to be yet another translation of scripture, but rather have been altered and rearranged to emphasize the importance of the identity of the God of Israel and our personal relationship to Him.  They are intended mainly for personal use.
